Cecily strong
Cecily Legler Strong (born February 8th, 1984) is an American actor, comedian producer, singer, and actress. Strong is most notable for her role as a character on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022. Strong has the longest tenure of a female actor during the course of the show's history. Strong was cast on SNL during improv classes at The Second City in Chicago in the city she later moved to after graduating from CalArts. She currently has a starring part in the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! She also produces the show (2021 until present).
Other roles she's been in as a voice actor include The Awesomes (2013-2015), as well as supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. In 2015, she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first novel, This Will All End Soon Soon The book was published by Random House in 2021.
She was nominated at the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series and Saturday Night Live.
Childhood and early life
Strong was born in Springfield, Illinois, and was raised in Oak Park, an inner suburb in the ring of Chicago. She is the daughter of Penelope Strong and William "Bill", who both served as Associated Press bureau chiefs and in 2013, operated their own public relations company. Penny Legler Strong is a nurse practitioner, and has worked in numerous hospitals of the area. Strong is the daughter of divorced parents. Strong was a fan of SNL together with her mother as a child. She would reenact sketches with her best friend and would watch old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape with the best commercials . I wore it out every day." She claimed that Phil Hartman inspired her.
